The Danish assistive technology and welfare technology industry

Solutions that benefit people and society

Danish leading position
The Danish assistive technology industry has a good reputation around the world. This is not least due to the ability of Danish manufacturers to transform Denmark’s leading position in the elderly and disabled persons area into qualitative, useful products and services.

Small and middle-sized
Most of the companies are small and medium-sized enterprises, which, when taken together, offer a very broad and varied selection of products and services.

Development, cooperation, quality and design
There is a long tradition in Denmark for having product development take place in close cooperation with both the disabled themselves and their organisations. This results in designs, functionality, quality and user-friendliness is in focus.

International cooperation
There is a growing international interest for the Danish manufacturer’s high quality and the Danish companies have an export share of about 2/3 of the total production.

Health & Rehab Scandinavia
The close cooperation between manufacturers, users, helpers and professional players is best illustrated at Scandinavias leading exhibition fair of assistive technology and services for people with functional impairments, Health & Rehab Scandinavia, which Danish.Care hosts every two years in May:
